Milan Fashion Week – How Was It?

Smaller guest lists, less press, obligation to wear face masks, social distance and temperature checks – Milan Fashion Week this season was a bit different due to COVID-19. But fashion shows weren’t canceled, they were also held in a digital format.

Alberta Ferretti, Fendi, Boss, Max Mara, Salvatore Ferragamo and Boss shows were presented physically, also many shows were held in digital format – with live streams; and some of them were only digital. Being present at the traditional fashion show is an incomparable feeling. You become a part of this world. It’s impossible to get real emotions, feel pure satisfaction and inspiration not only from beautiful models, clothes, location but also from the magic that happens around, watching this event from a sofa at home.

I was lucky to attend my favorite runway shows in a traditional format, spend a few unforgettable days in Milan, appear on the pages of the most famous magazines and websites, such as VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, L'Officiel, The Cut, POPSUGAR, Fashion to Max, present Ukrainian brands (of course, The Kode too!) and get an incredible dose of inspiration and motivation!

This year I felt myself in the right place and attended shows with great pleasure. I’m so happy that my looks were highly appreciated and photos were published in famous magazines. There’s not only my work behind the gorgeous picture and perfect outfits but the help of the whole team that came to Milan with me. And the great support of my husband, family and friends.

The clothes and details for my street looks were carefully selected. 50% of my outfits consisted of vintage clothes and accessories; the other half is clothes from Ukrainian brands. I took most of my The Kode bags to shows. It was awesome that the public liked the bags of my own design; they asked about them and took photos.

I’ll definitely remember Milan Fashion Week SS21 for a long time. The season was historical and not like all the previous. Such events inspire, they are a dose of beauty and creativity. It’s a meeting place for incredible people and artists. Words can’t describe the atmosphere in Milan. For a few days, the city became one huge and luxury catwalk.

After such busy and emotional days, I want to go further, to create, to inspire, to believe in myself, and believe in my work. To be continued! I hope that the situation with COVID-19 in the world will improve and soon all the fashion shows will be held in a traditional format.
